Mint. Gemstone inset into the thumb stud which is on both sides. Blade is 320 ladder pattern Damascus, bolster is 112 layer random pure nickel and 1018 steel, both forged by the maker. two 4mm peridot bullet shaped cabachons, two 2 mm rubies faceted rounds in gold settings. William Scagel GENUINE and ORIGINAL hunter. A knife by the man who started it all, who inspired Bo Randall to start, the subject of several books, and a prime example of a hunter with the VL&A, Chicago mark on the back of the blade. Brass guard, stacked leather washer handle with a stag pommel that Scagel himself invented. The knife has been cleaned to the point that part of the Chicago in the VL&A mark is hard to read, 10 1/2'' oal, 5 1/2'' blade, but look close at the high-res image and see for yourself. Rare chance to own an important part of cutlery history. Sheath is typical Scagel, sewn and riveted with the back side of the loop extended the length of the knife and oversized.

As close as you can get to Holy Grail Randall knives, a matched pair of Model 14 tenite handled Randalls, Both the the same owner's name engraved on the back of the blades, Thomas Smith McGill (the small version is engraved Thomas S. McGill.) The larger model (14-7) comes with a Brown button rough back sheath with a canteen snap strap and a double grit stone. The smaller (14-5) also has a double grit stone, both in riveted sheaths. Tenite's are rare rare rare, but two knives by the same owner in two different sizes of the same model. It doesn't get better than this. Some staining and some shrinking you find on most tenites, so near mint in my opinion but look close at the high res images in the non-bid catalog and make up your own mind. Night of the Grizzly Cooper knife, marked J. N. Cooper VA Beach, VA. This is perhaps one of the most famous of all the famous Cooper Bowies, actually worn by Clint Walker in the Paramount Pictures movie, ''Night of the Grizzly'' and featured in the movie and shown in promo photos. Brass and micarta handle, with original Cooper marked sheath, includes lobby cards and a massive movie poster of the movie. The Rambo knives used by Stallone in that movie are in his personal collection, the Iron Mistress Bowie is reportedly in at the Alamo Museum. Think of the other movie knives you never had the chance to own. For this one you do. 17 1/4'' oal, 10 3/4'' blade, brass guard, pommel, and wide center spacer with stacked micarta. Mint.

Quite simply one of the most famous D. E. Henry Bowies ever made, first coming to light in a 1970's edition of William Cassidy's Knife Digest, this knife was illustrated in an article with legendary novelist James Jones, author of such WWII classics as ''From Here to Eternity'' and ''The Thin Red Line.'' This stag handled Bowie has ''Jas. Jones'' engraved in an escutcheon on the reverse side, and the tang is marked with a dog and the number 1 on the tang. Matched stag handles, coffin shaped hilt, straight guard, and extraordinary craftsmanship that was typical of D. E. Henry. 16 1/2'' oal, 11'' blade, some very light cleanable tarnish on the thick tang and a single spider near the tip of the blade. Otherwise mint. Sheath has a couple of dents and indention where someone wrote #52 (no ink, just the indention).

Buster Warenski art Bowie, wing shaped guard, nickel silver wrapped coffin handle with inlaid abalone on each side, elaborate engraved throat and tip on matching sheath, French notch on the blade, and Warneski quality--no need to say more about that. Buster marked on the sheath frog, 15 1/4'' oal, 9 3/4'' blade. Perfect mirror polish.

Nichols WWII knife, Brass handle, curled guard, Alfred Cornish saddlemaker sheath, leather lanyard still intact, and buffalo nickel inset into the pommel (Nichols was stopped from using nickels on his pommels at one point during WWII by the war production board as nickel was an essential war material). ''Edward P. Lynn'' with his serial number is stamped into the sheath, and onto the guard. Elegant blade shape, 13'' oal, 7 5/8'' blade. Overall tarnish on the blade but little blade wear, giving it a nice patina and character for a knife of this age.

R. J. Richtig dagger blade in a saddlemaker Alfred Cornish tooled leather sheath, nice patina on the guard and pommel, stacked leather washer handle, blade is full but some spotting, a couple of deep pits toward the front. End of pommel stamped F. J. R. Clarkson, Neb, but only ''arks'' is visible. 11'' oal, 6'' blade. Extended tang for lanyard extends from the pommel. Rare plus.

M. H. Cole knuckle knife. Borrowing a clipping found with this knife, ''This is the Holy Grail of WW2 military knife collecting, M. H. Cole Double Edge Fighting Knife with 9 points--one of only 80 made.'' Great patina, walnut handle, unmarked, as most of Cole's knives were, as the government frowned on shop made knives using critical materials. Original unmarked sheath, 12 1/2'' oal, 7 1/2'' blade, a few specks you might expect from a knife this age.

Randall WWII era 1-8, riveted Moore sheath, wrapped lanyard loop on the end (one of the major identifiers of WWII Randalls). Whetstone pocket has been removed, which was not uncommon for combat knives in that era, full blade, nice patina but some specks one should expect from a knife of this age. Richard Spinale masterpiece, gold lip pearl handles, gold pins, engraved shield, floral engraved gold blossoms around some pin heads, and relief engraved gold flower bolsters. Gold toothpick fits under the handle. Engraved on both sides of the blade, and even the indent on the lockback bar is engraved. Inside the backstrap is engraved. Back spine is also engraved and inset with gold engraved floral cartouches. Spinale's engraving sometimes exceeds the work of his mentor and teacher H. H. Frank, whose influence is evident in Spinale's work. This later maker was not prolific, and examples of his work are quite uncommon to see up for sale. Here is a rare chance for you to own a knife of this exceptional quality. 4 1/4'' closed, 7 3/8'' open.

Ernest Warther, Dover, OH combat knife, among the rarest of the rare, in his unique styling but also comes with his artistic brass and aluminum sheath. Exc plus. Escutcheon has L. O. Didinger personalization on one side and his serial number on the other. Brass guard, pommel and fitting. Knife is not marked but the sheath is. The sheath is a work of art unto itself with chevron and heart windowpaning. Hilt of the knife has aluminum wrapped around the hidden tang. Exceptional classic fighting knife balance that is not found in modern knives. Blade has lost its luster and has been used but is full. Exc.

George E. Dailey Spectacular gemstone incrusted Damascus folder. Five diamonds inset on the front of the Damascus dagger blade, three rubies inset into the Damascus bolsters, five rubies set into a gold spacer between the bolster and the gold lip mother of pearl handles, and a ruby inset into the Damascus fishtail shaped Damascus bolsters. The gold extended lanyard loop is inset with five diamonds on either side. Six more rubies are inset inside gold mounts on the fileworked backspring. Fully fileworked liners. and fourteen emeralds are inset into a gold track on the inside of the knife on the backstrap. Mint. Approximately 4 5/8" inches long. Legendary knife, the OSS Stiletto, English made with Pancake flipper sheath, 1940's, oval steel guard, swell center bowling pin handle, checkered overall with small ball style pommel, sewn at the front sheath, green metal top to the scabbard reportedly made from a pancake turner, missing the rubber ''O'' ring, some wear on the sheath, beyond scare, and near mint. Blacked blade is mint, knife itself is unmarked. These are heavily reproduced but compared this one with Art Green's original prototype at the Pigeon Forge show. Both he and others said this is the real deal.

R. J. Richtig small Bowie, initials stamped into the guard, great patina and still colorful fiber, brass washer and leather handle, blood groove in the clip blade, turned down pommel, in an Alfred Cornish sheath, full blades that I would call near mint or maybe even a little better. Richtigs are at the top of the line in military collector knives and among the rarest and most desireble. ''J.D.K.'' stamped into both sides of the pommel, and struck into the guard 13022535 on both sides. 13'' oal, 7 3/4'' blade. One indention into the handle on the back side. Excellent. Nichols WWII knife, Brass handle, curled guard with rings and lanyard attached to the curled guard is still intact, Alfred Cornish saddlemaker style sheath, leather lanyard still intact, and buffalo nickel inset into the pommel (Nichols was stopped from using nickels on his pommels at one point during WWII by the war production board) name that was on the sheath has been scratched out. Exc. Quick dangerous feeling balance, as Ken Warner once said holding a similar balanced knife, ''Wouldn't you be a bad SOB in the dark with this.'' 12 1/2'' oal, 7'' blade.

Randall WWII era 1-8, black sheath with black buttons, wrapped brass lanyard loop on the pommel, five wide spacers at the guard, three wide spacers at the pommel (one of the major identifiers of WWII Randalls). full blade but has been carried and used. Wide spacers at both the guard and pommel, combo stone, some stippling marks on the guard from some idiot hammering once (no real damage other than a less than perfect finish, excellent blade, engraved, ''E. J. Larriemee'' on the reverse. nice patina on the brass, some pitting and scratching on the blade but full blade, soldered where the guard meets the blade. Not sure this is the exact sheath for the knife but due to the scarcity of this type sheath it should not change the value.

Judson Brennan & Sons Spectacular engraved Bowie, coffin engraved sterling handles with a gold escutcheon, sterling inlaid tang mark, fully engraved sheath on throat and tip, sculpted guard. One of the rarest Gerber Mark II's ever made, Number 2600, and the gold handle so colored because briefly Gerber decided to dip every 100th knife in gold. They were more expensive and actually did not sell well at the time and were quickly discontinued, making finding one what any knife enthusiast calls a ''good day''. This could be your good day. Condition is that some fool carried it and gave it light use, so near mint. This model does have the canted offset blade.

Lloyd Hale folder, made by a maker who was making art knives before there were art knives. His artistry is well noted, but the acclaim that found its way to many other makers did not reach full potential for Hale, as for over 20 years everything he made was purchased by one art patron (Owlsey Brown Fraizer of Brown Distilleries i.e. Jack Daniels among many other brands). Fraizer did not wanted Hale selling knives at shows or being subject to others influence, and was allowed to follow his own artistic muse in cutlery. His work is hailed as among the most artistic in the world, and this clean folder is an example. Pinless handles, fileworked liners and bade back, and unique twisted lanyard locking bar. Mint. Rope engraving all the way around this knife, 3 1/2'' closed, 6 1/4'' oal. Closed the blade extends beyond the frame and is cradled by the curled locking bar. Unique. M. H. Cole knuckle knife made for Tommy Holtam, featured a sheath marked MHC, the guard marked M. H. Cole, and a plate on the other side marked Roebuck Works. One well known authority remarked that while certainly M. H. Cole made, this was post WWII. Still Cole only made a few hundred knives in all before becoming the Dean of military knife authorities. 11 7/8'' oal, 7 1/2'' blade, cleaned, a couple of pit spots remain. Exc.

Wood handled dagger marked ''Buck'' on a scroll pantagraph, blood grooved down the center ridge, straight guard, straight tang. Leather sheath is flared at the the top, the sheath does flare at the top like the older H. H. Buck sheaths. One Buck collector commented he did not think Hoyt Buck would have made a dagger.
